Privacy Policy
Effective August 12, 2026
Cedar Properties (“Cedar,” “we,” “us”) manages short-term vacation rentals in the Catskills, New York and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This policy explains what information we collect from guests and homeowners, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email tony@cedar.properties.
Information we collect
When you book or inquire about a stay, we collect the information needed to arrange and support it: your name, email address, phone number, reservation dates, guest count, and messages you send us. Bookings and payments made through third-party platforms (such as Airbnb, Vrbo, or our booking partners) are processed by those platforms under their own terms; we receive the reservation and contact details necessary to host you. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers ourselves.
How we use it
We use your information to confirm and manage your reservation, communicate with you before, during, and after your stay, answer questions, resolve issues at the property, and meet our legal and tax obligations. Homeowner information is used to manage their property and account with us.
SMS and messaging
We may contact you by text message (SMS) and through booking-platform messaging about your reservation — for example, check-in details, responses to your questions, and time-sensitive issues during your stay. These messages are transactional and related to your booking; we do not send marketing texts. Message frequency varies by reservation. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts will not affect your reservation — we will simply reach you another way.
How we share it
We share information only as needed to provide our service: with the booking platform you reserved through, with service providers who help us operate (such as our property management, messaging, and hosting tools), with the homeowner's trusted vendors (for example, cleaners or maintenance) where required to support your stay, and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Advertising & measurement
We use the Meta Pixel (from Meta Platforms, Inc.) on this website for advertising and measurement. It helps us understand how visitors use the site, measure the performance of our ads, and reach relevant audiences on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The pixel may collect technical information such as your device and browser, pages viewed, and actions taken on the site. You can manage how Meta uses this information in your Meta account ad settings, and you can limit tracking through your browser or device privacy controls.
Data retention & security
We keep information for as long as needed to support your stay and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing tony@cedar.properties. You can opt out of texts as described above.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent version.
